Stand Up to Hate: A Panel Discussion on Shared Histories and Collective Resistance
Join the U.S. Friends of Wiener Holocaust Library for a powerful evening of reflection, dialogue, and collective resolve at Stand Up to Hate, a panel discussion exploring the common threads in recent hate crimes and the intersectionality between the Jewish, Black, and LGBTQ+ communities.
Held in New York City on September 18, this event brings together survivors and community leaders from three devastating attacks: the Pittsburgh Synagogue Shooting, the Dayton, Ohio mass shooting, and the Pulse nightclub shooting in Orlando, Florida. Panelists will share personal insights and explore how hate manifests across communities — and how solidarity, remembrance, and documentation are essential to preventing history from repeating itself.
In an age of rising extremism, this discussion underscores the urgent need for vigilance, empathy, and action. Together, we will examine how preserving evidence and telling the truth — core principles of the Wiener Holocaust Library — are essential tools in the fight against bigotry in all its forms.

Identity, Trauma, and Resistance
Together, we’ll examine the intersections of identity, trauma, and resistance — and the vital role of documenting these events to ensure they are never forgotten, and never repeated.
